A large council located in the north of England had implemented Microsoft 365 and SharePoint 2010 as a platform used to operate every day. The council desired to increase the overall collaboration share information and perform other functions between staff members.
Unfortunately, the platform is outdated and unable to support a modern workplace for employees to maximisze their performance. Access to most tools and applications seemed to be blocked and employees could not access valuable information. The council decided it was time to modernisze the solution used to operate it and moved its services towards a recent version of Microsoft 365 products. The tools included Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online, proven to be highly proactive and efficient for communication by many organiszations.
Task
They required support from risual to implement the necessary changes. The project was aimed at delivering a modern workplace with smart features able to improve the employee experience for the council.
Action
Once all requirements were agreed upon, our experts designed and implemented a new employee engagement portal with Microsoft Viva integrated into Teams. Council staff would then have easy access to relevant information without wasting time searching for it. This new portal can offer other benefits such learning incentives, employee insights and opinion sharing which truly enhances the employee experience.
Microsoft Viva is a platform which aims to support people, their goals, development, communication, collaboration and wellbeing. With the use of Viva, the council will immediately begin to see a shift in employee mindset, daily focus and overall mental health and wellbeing. Aside from the perosnal benefits to each employee, it will also help support directly to cross-teams, collaboration, seamless communication and help strive towards a modern workplace.
Based on the client’s requirement, risual designed and deployed bespoke training services, to help users understand all the features available to them. Once the training was completed, users could continue creating content on top of risual’s initial work.

Next steps
