Teams Takeover

Microsoft have recently announced that Skype for Business Online will be retired on 31st July 2021 and will no longer be accessible after that date. The end of Skype means a new application will be taking its place and that will be Microsoft Teams. From now until the retirement date, all current Skype for Business Online users will be able to continue to add new users as usual. Since 1st September 2019 however, all new Office 365 users have been directly set up with Teams for chat, meetings and calling.

Please note, the Skype Consumer service and Skype for Business Server will both be unaffected by this announcement.

Although this change will happen more than 24 months in the future, it is really important to start considering your options of moving to Teams. Microsoft have been consistently improving Teams over the last few years and innovation has meant that it has pushed Skype for Business Online aside. Teams also works in collaboration with Office 365 and is now the primary communication application offered by Microsoft, so Teams is the best for all of your business communication needs.
