A police force located in the south east of England had a requirement to implement a secure digital cloud platform that complied with standards defined by a National Enablers Programmes (NEP). The force needed a Microsoft Partner with experience in Azure and with a history of success – so they turned to risual.

The NEP defines how police forces implement a standardised Azure Landing Zone. This hosts their applications and services, allowing for collaboration and increased productivity for all UK police forces.

risual implemented Azure DevOps to automate the deployment of the Azure Landing Zone, ensuring the standards set out by the NEP were met. A Azure Blueprint was used to define compliance policies, role-based access (RBAC), security, and Azure resources to be used in the project, such as:

  • Key Vaults
  • Log Analytics
  • Storage Accounts
  • Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates

The automation of the Azure Landing Zone deployment has simplified the whole deployment process and allowed for staff to resume their normal, day-to-day roles, instead of having to work on this project.

Moving forward the police force wishes to continue working with risual in documenting their Azure DevOps procedures and ensuring their organisation continues to adopt the latest Microsoft technologies.
