It is now possible to install a Linux Distribution of your choice onto your Windows 10 Device.
The following distributions are currently available:
As a prerequisite you first need to enable the “Windows Subsystem for Linux” feature.
You can do this by running the below PowerShell Command
Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
Now select the Linux distribution of choice from the above list, all link to the relevant distribution in the windows store. Then proceed to download the distribution.
Now launch Ubuntu from the Start menu and it will proceed to install and configure, this can take quite a while.
You will now need to set a username and password, once you’ve done this you are all good to go!
