Situation
A professional services organisation reviewed its Power BI infrastructure through a Power BI Adoption engagement report. Following on from this, they decided to configure the Power BI environment, and analyse the existing data.
Task
The organisation desired to have the sufficient capabilities, within its in-house IT team, to enable external report sharing by end users.
Action
Power BI Premium has now been deployed to enable end users across the organisation to access all reports using a Power BI free license. Connections to the production data source have been made alongside example reports. A demonstration of Power BI Embedded has been provided, which enables external sharing.
Results
The appropriate end users can:
- Access Power BI reports.
- Share reports externally (up to 1000 users).
- As a potential next step, the professional services organisation could build an externally facing Power BI Embedded portal for users to access.
