In a time when we need to be close to people and communicate, Managed Services is key to the NHS to ensure connectivity. Keeping in touch with the vulnerable or high risk is a priority for all of us, we have heard the phrase ‘unite by staying apart’, which sums up the predicament we are all in.
Isolation is challenging for many, although with the power of technology, communication is still possible and keeping in touch with friends and family is seen a as a necessity rather than a luxury. Unfortunately, for those who are in hospital at this time, communicating with loved ones is not so easy.
Due to lock down restrictions, visitors in hospitals have come to a standstill, meaning that patients are left with no contact from family members and friends. risual have been working with an NHS trust who were kindly gifted devices to support keeping in touch for patients who don’t have access to devices and can’t have visitors in the hospital, ensuring that they get crucial time video calling with friends and family at a time when they really need it. With young people being in this category, the trust had a duty of care to ensure that no harmful content could be accessed from the devices meaning a secure network was key to this roll out. Needing to act quickly to get the devices into the hands of the patients risual secured and connected the tablets to a filtered network ensuring that the patients were always safe.
Being able to react quickly with the support of our flexible Managed Services Team was key to risual being able to support the NHS trust in this case, supporting our clients in real time.
