Whether you’re based in Stafford, or visiting HQ for a visit, you’ll be met with fantastic office facilities (we love a talking point piece of furniture!) as much tea and coffee you can drink and free fruit to snack on when you get peckish. Our break out areas are designed for you have fun with friends over a game of pool or table tennis or to really chill out on the beanbags.

Each employee takes time out of their day job to undertake Mothership Week, an opportunity for our teams out in the field to return to the Mothership, and for everyone to develop new relationships across the business, receive business updates and get involved in a wide range of activities to support personal wellbeing and development.

We consider ourselves to be a socially responsible organisation and actively seek to find opportunities where we can support our employees to make a difference to our local community.  We recognise that local charities often need extra resource and we organise for a team of risual colleagues to support a local charity every month.  Not only do we provide some invaluable support to charities but we uncover some incredible skills from our talented risual colleagues along the way!!

Staying in the know is key, so we invite all of our team to HQ twice a year for our Summits, a day of updates and learning. Directors’ TV, risual radio, social media, and our weekly newsletter coupled with transparency, honesty and risual’s no-door policy mean our colleagues always have the opportunity to hear what is happening, understand risual’s performance, ask any question of anybody in the business including the given right to respectfully challenge any decision or request.

We all need time away from work to recharge, travel, take care of personal issues, or spend time with family and friends.  Career breaks, unpaid leave, time off for volunteering or charity work, flex in your workday to meet your personal and business needs or attend that school nativity – we all want different things and we listen, and genuinely look to support all shape and size of requests. We are immensely proud of our consultancy team and value their ability to work in partnership with our customers, helping and guiding them on how to use Microsoft technologies to meet business objectives or overcome problems.  Our consultancy team have the ability to affect and improve our customer’s success and performance through the strategic guidance and technical expertise they provide to our customers.  Like most consultant roles, we understand the significance of this role means the consultancy team can work outside of the usual 9-5 and the nature of the IT industry means that extra hours are often required to meet deadlines.  Additionally, to engage fully with our customers in a consultative manner, our consultants may also spend time travelling to customer site (our customers love having our consultancy people around them as much as we do!)  All of this doesn’t go unnoticed and we understand the impact on being away from home.  We monitor time away from home and we always encourage remote working where an engagement allows.  We also ensure that documentation write-up, training, personal development, wellbeing week, team meetings and manager 1:1s give time to be closer to home or engaged with the risual family.

What could be better than a day of games, food and drink? We understand the impact of a busy working life on those at home and supporting them is important to us.  We provide events for family members, fully funded by risual, to take the opportunity to thank them for the support that they provide to you and to risual – this is our Annual Family Day. We extend many of our employee benefits to your loved ones.  We offer generous parental leave policies, comprehensive healthcare scheme, death benefits, and much more. We even give you your birthday off and send flowers to your partner on their birthday!  Whilst we have grown substantially over recent years, our ‘family’ culture is still very much prevalent and important to us.

Nobody does Christmas like risual – our annual Christmas party is another way to say thank you to our fantastic risualites for all of their hard work throughout the year.

Apprenticeships

We believe we have changed the landscape of apprenticeships forever. 

Our apprenticeship scheme has gained national attention, from Parliament to independent awarding bodies. risual take on over 15 apprentices every year because we understand the ability and talent young people have and we wholeheartedly both advocate and support that – it’s the risual way. We nurture our apprentices to help them build a lasting career in IT – which more often than not is with risual.
