Just a short post, recently I’ve been working on a project to implement call recording with Microsoft Teams. As part of the solution a Teams Compliance Recording Policy needed to be assigned to the users being recorded. This worked for the admin using a Global Admin account but when it came to be tried by a support team member with just the Teams Administrator role they encountered an error:

Grant-CsTeamsComplianceRecordingPolicy : You are not authorized to perform this action

User admin permissions were granted to the user to no effort, the answer it turns out was simple. Adding the Skype for Business Administrator role enabled the command to run.

Whilst Skype for Business Online is no more, it’s legacy still remains, I hope this helps someone else.
