Dynamics 365 Human Resources (formally Talent)

Microsoft are re-branding another of their products in the Dynamics suite, this time Dynamics 365 Talent. This tool enables organisations to manage HR information whilst allowing elements of employee self-service. As of February 2020, this will be renamed as Dynamics 365 Human Resources and will no longer include Attract or Onboard available in the current offering.

Why has this happened and what does it mean for me?

If you’re already using Dynamics 365 Talent the full suite of tools (including Attract and Onboard) will be available until February 2022. However, Attract and Onboard have been formally deprecated and will not be available for purchase following 1st February 2020. Following the purchase of LinkedIn, Microsoft are focusing on talent offerings as part of this platform. Details of these offerings can be found through the links at the end of this blog. For some new-comers to Dynamics 365 Human Resources this could be a shock, if you have any queries please get in touch. As Microsoft are now focusing on a single product to provide business with HR tools, they’re able to add additional features more suited for internal needs.

Is this “added functionality” useful?

Yes! Microsoft are aiming to include more tools as part of Dynamics 365 Human Resource including the following:

  • Skill Gap Analysis
  • Self Service Tools (Absence, Training etc)
  • Employee Growth
  • Management

Additionally, Microsoft will be added more entities to the Common Data Service (CDS) to allow developers to further build on the default functionality. This expected to be released March 2020 which should include the following:

  • Performance
  • Competencies
  • Training & Courses
  • Health & Safety
  • Compliance
  • 3rd Party App Integration
