risual are really proud to announce that Max Rochefort-Shugar, a former risual apprentice, has won ‘Welsh Apprentice of the Year’, in manufacturing!

Max is studying in his second year at Swansea University, studying BSc (Hons) Applied Software Engineering Degree. He joined his current place of work SONY in 2017 on a risual apprenticeship scheme and has since progressed onto the Applied Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with Swansea University.

“For me, the main appeal of an apprenticeship was the opportunity to study towards a qualification in a subject that I have a genuine interest in and then reinforce my knowledge by applying it in a professional environment.” – Max Rochefort-Shugar

On November 7th Max attended the 2019 Make UK Manufacturing Awards in Cardiff, and there he was awarded the Apprentice of the Year Award.

A big congratulations to Max, and to SONY.

“We are proud of Max’s achievements reflected in this well-deserved nomination, and happy to be playing a part in facilitating his apprenticeship journey.” – Dr Liam O’Reliey, Director at Swansea University
