To do this risual needed to find where the problem areas were arising to allow them to really begin analysing the current structure and generate reliable next steps. Director and Co-Founder at risual, Alun Rogers follows four data stages on his journey, which would create new paths to innovate.
The first stage on a data journey is to gather all the relevant and important pieces of information together, you will want to collate everything you feel will give you a valuable report on what the current state is. Gathering the right pieces of information will give you the opportunity to really analyse the data and see where the gaps are, what works and what isn’t working.
There’s no use generating all this data and doing nothing with it. This is where the explaining stage comes into place, you need to create reports on what you have found. Get everyone under one knowledge umbrella, ensuring that everyone understands what the data shows, what it means and are aware of what is going on within your organisation.
Refine and develop.
Once you’ve been able to show the results, it’s now time to set some goals, how can you improve? Stage three is all about showing your audience where the issues are and where they are not, but it’s also about using them results to begin changing something. Make some goals, try something new, evaluate what is already in place and how it can be tailored to provide better results – it’s time to create a better and positive outcome with achievable goals.
And finally, we save the best until last – the monitoring stage. The most exciting stage out of the four – proving if it worked. During this stage you will have the chance to analyse all of the changes you made and find out if you met your set goals. Is there anything different after you made your changes? What has worked? What hasn’t worked? Any positives or negatives? What was the outcome?
