Exchange Hybrid Permissions

There’s been an update to Exchange Hybrid Permissions for cross-premises!

Is it time to pop the champagne?? Not quite yet…

From now running up till April 2018, Microsoft are rolling out updates to all tenants that will support the below cross-premises permissions:

  • Full Access – Was already supported but good to know it’s still there
  • Send on Behalf Of – Hurruh!!
  • Folder Permissions – Huzzah!!! I believe this to include Calendar permissions (they act as folder permissions) but I’ve yet to confirm and test.
  • Private Items – yay! to be honest, not come across this very often, but a nice addition.

That’s what’s now supported (once the rollout to all tenants is completed as of April 2018).

Wait…where’s Send As? Sadly, that is NOT supported at this time, nor is it on the Exchange Online Roadmap. So some management of migration batches is still needed for Send As permissions.

Still, two out of three ain’t bad.

The following TechNet shows the supported permissions: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj906433(v=exchg.150).aspx#Delegate mailbox permissions
