Have you ever been stuck trying to find something within Active Directory?

Well here’s a quick way you can perform this search using the Find function within Active Directory Domain Services.

Firstly open up the find function as usual within Active Directory.

Select the drop down box as shown above and select “Custom Search”

From here you will have a tab displaying the option “Advanced” if you click on this you will then notice you are presented with an LDAP Query box where you can search for objects using your usual operators, for example I could search for “name=*Dewi*” and it would display as shown below.

Hopefully this will help make your life a little easier when searching through Active Directory for lost Objects.
