As Windows 2008 Core doesn’t have a GUI you are unable to uninstall a program in the usual fashion. In Core you have to uninstall by running the programs uninstall string.

The Below Steps will show you how to do this.

  • Run Regedit
  • Expand HLKMSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInstallerUserData image

  • Expand Products and then you should see lots of keys, if you expand these keys and go to installer properties it will give you the uninstall string ( I normally do a search for the program I’m after to save expand every key)

  • If you simply copy the uninstall string and paste it into command prompt it will uninstall the program for you Smile
