“Protecting frontline services through the identification and delivery of tactical cashable savings.”

risual’s operational cost review (ROCR) is a packaged strategic consultancy engagement, developed to support your organisation in the identification of tactical cashable savings, whilst supporting protecting frontline service delivery and strategic objectives.

risual recognise the importance of being able to deliver tactical savings without impacting any strategic projects and programmes, through the evaluation and analysis of the current IT operation, team structure, project priorities and organisation wide objectives. Described as the AS-IS phase, this will provide the platform for the next three years approach to IT services and the relationships which it operates across internal and external customers, partners and suppliers.

The AS-IS phase will specifically look at:

Non-Pay costs and cashable savings

  • existing major IT infrastructure contracts
  • existing 3rd party support and consultancy
  • licensing agreements

Relationship categorisation and priority

  • procurement process and contract values
  • tactical and strategic partners
  • core service levels

Project priorities and value contribution

  • key projects and their existing business cases
  • their relationship across core IT areas
  • areas of progress
  • potential project overlap

ROCR will find areas of duplication, highlight opportunities to drive greater value from existing investments and value opportunities and provide a framework for clear value based procurement and decision making to maintain operational efficiency across IT.

Recommendations

Once the AS-IS baseline exercise has been completed, the business and IT teams are brought together to discuss the impact of the findings. This phase of ROCR presents the potential options available to organisation and the contribution to business value.

Recommendations will be based on people, process and technology in order to highlight the most appropriate path and the anticipated impact of change, should the recommendations be adopted.
