Consolidation of assets allows for a more productive team
Deploying cloud technology can have a positive effect on cost savings. It can save your organisation a substantial sum of money in the long run. Why not follow our Derby City Council case study to see how this organisation saved millions each year through moving all its assets into Microsoft's Azure cloud.
Allowing the workforce to be more productive
A benefit of deploying Optimised Service Vision is that it can free the workforce from monitoring on-premises servers. This then allows for a more empowered, productive and motivated workforce, which can help massively with the running of your organisation.
We have led the market in terms of migration to and deployment of new cloud technology techniques. There is becoming an increased demand for organisations to store their data on the cloud and we have worked with many organisation from Paul Smith to Derby City Council to help deliver these services.
Optimised Service Vision is an offering that is designed to strip back some of the rhetoric around cloud computing and let us work with the customer to design an infrastructure that delivers a long term, scalable and service-oriented approach to IT. To ensure that IT departments provide fast-paced, flexible and business-led capabilities, we have developed a repeatable strategy that can be tailored to match an organisation’s needs.
We aim to deliver technology based on business requirements using an appropriate mix of on-premises, public or hybrid cloud options. This approach helps organisations move from reactive provisioning and support to proactive service delivery. This is done under the management of consumption, which is measured against mutually agreed service level agreement. Optimised Service Vision utilises multiple technology components to deliver end-to-end business service with a robust framework.
Moving organisations from a server and workload centric model to a service centric model, our Optimised Service Vision helps drive cost down, increase business value and deliver innovation, all while being carefully aligned to business strategy.
why: Derby City Council were looking to deliver IT services in a different way. They were coming to the end of a large outsource IT agreement but did not want to start running datacentres themselves and they wanted to benefit from the latest IT services.
how: risual used a combination of tactical collocated datacentre racks and the more strategic Microsoft Cloud to provide IT services. Existing services were surveyed and a plan was created to migrate as many IT services as possible to Office365 and Azure services including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). This plan was carried out over a period of around 15 months and completed successfully so that the outsourced IT agreement could be closed. This left the council in a position whereby the could choose to benefit from any new IT service that is released by either Microsoft or other 3rd party SaaS providers.
