Careers Club Initiative To Aid COVID-19 Recovery

Introducing our Careers Club Initiative!

Since 2005, risual Limited has gone from strength to strength and received many accolades along the way including UK Microsoft Partner of the Year in 2015 and securing Azure Expert MSP status in 2019. Over a 15 year period, risual has grown from a start-up to one of the safest pairs of hands in delivering IT consulting and managed services in the UK and beyond.

Priding themselves on doing things a little differently, the founders – Alun Rogers and Richard Proud – were determined to go that bit further in 2020 and, in response to COVID-19, have set about accelerating some of their plans.  That has seen the business working with the Charity Commission to establish a charitable foundation in which they are in the final stages of concluding and this week saw the launch of its first initiative, which is a Careers Club.

With risual now employing well over 100 people, the risual Foundation will take responsibility for the business’ charitable activities which has seen them give up thousands of hours to various activities over the years and seen them make financial contributions to causes close to the companies heart along the way.

risual co-founder/owner and risual Foundation Trustee, Richard Proud had this to say:

“We set out at the start of the year to set up and establish an initiative which could make a positive impact, not just here in Staffordshire where we are based, but hopefully across a wider region.”  Richard added: “the Careers Club was an idea that our Foundation members were keen to do in light of COVID-19 and hopefully, using our knowledge and experiences, we can play our part in helping get people back into work and even perhaps help those would be entrepreneurs launch their own businesses”.

risual already has a proven track record of giving people a chance with many apprentices and graduates starting their careers at risual, some of whom remain with the company today.  With its breadth of skills internally and spread across the foundation members the foundation will be focussing on:

  • Online content and online appointments.
  • CV hints and tips.
  • Confidence building exercises.
  • Interview preparation practice.
  • Help with emotional intelligence and body language.
  • Reading and learning suggestions.
  • Access to the risual Learning Platform to help with digital literacy.

From the Shetland Islands to the Isles of Scilly, to the old coastal towns of Rhyl and Great Yarmouth, the risual Foundation Careers Club invites anyone to get involved.
