SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2 End of Life Support

Microsoft have just announced the upcoming end of life support for SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2

On July 9th 2019 Microsoft will officially end the extended support for SQL Server 2008 and 2008 r2. This will mean that there will be no more updates or support of any kind, this might potentially vulnerable to security and compliance issues. To help with the migration Microsoft have announced that they will be hosting a web seminar on July 12th. This seminar will include:

  • How to migrate applications and data
  • How to avoid and minimise business disruptions and obtain the latest security technologies
  • The advantages of  moving the legacy platforms to SQL Server 2017 and Azure
  • The range of guidance and resources available to help for a wide range of paths
