It has been usual practice for app developers to take a 70% cut from all revenue of their apps on App Stores however Microsoft have announced at Build 2018 this is to change!

For non-game apps, Microsoft will take just a 5% cut instead of 30%, leaving developers with a 95% cut of the revenue from app sales.

Microsoft are using this as a push to get new apps into the Microsoft Store to complete with the App Store and Google Play.
